Dr. Tyler Mason

Dr. John Ayers was raised right here in Goodlettsville, TN. He is a graduate of Kansas State University CVM. Dr. Ayers has post graduate training in small animal surgery and orthopedics. He is glad to be back home in Tennessee and enjoys serving his hometown community. In his spare time he enjoys his farm, sports, hiking, and hanging out with his wife and two children.

Dr. Tyler Mason

Dr. Mason is a native of middle Tennessee, having been born and raised in Mount Juliet. He attended Wake Forest University in North Carolina for his undergraduate studies and the University of Tennessee for Veterinary School. Dr. Mason has been with Root since his graduation in 2018 and has enjoyed living out his dream of becoming a veterinarian so close to where he grew up. Outside of work, Dr. Mason is an avid sports fan and proudly suports the Titans, Vols, and Predators. In his spare time, he enjoyes playing golf and spending time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Amber Semirosum

Dr. Sarah Durlin began working as a small animal veterinarian in Tennessee after graduating from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Her decision to become a vet was greatly influenced by the mentorship of Dr. Doug Peterson and the late Dr. Jenks Britt. Her favorite part of being a vet is having the honor of meeting and caring for such important family members through all stages of their lives. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and dogs.

Dr. Amber Semirosum

Dr. Amber Semirosum is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After growing up in McKenzie, TN and finishing her bachelors and doctorate degree in Knoxville, she decided to make the move to Middle Tennessee. She is a big fan of cats and enjoys feline medicine, but is passionate about all areas of small animal practice. She is excited to be serving the Goodlettsville community and making a positive impact on your furry family members.

Dr. Katie Simon grew up on a farm outside of Florence, Alabama, where her love for animals first began. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 2018 and has been working in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She has experience in many areas of veterinary medicine and especially enjoys dermatology and dentistry. Dr. Simon lives in Nashville with her husband and two dogs. They enjoy the outdoors and look forward to expanding into homesteading in the future.

Dr. Emily grew up in Hendersonville, Tn. She attended The University of Tennessee at Martin where she graduated in 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture.  After her stent in west Tennessee, she moved to the other end of the state where she attended Veterinary School at The University of Tennessee. In her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her 2 dogs - Hazel and Ruby.

 Taylor was born on a small farm here in middle Tennessee, where her love for animals began. She earned her Veterinary Assistant Certification from Vol State in 2018 and spent 10 years working as an assistant in both small animal and equine medicine before changing roles. Taylor understands the importance of connecting with clients and patients while making them feel welcomed. 

Outside of work, she loves spending time her husband, canning, riding horses and camping with her dogs.
